Aimé Leon Dore – Amid the contemporary time

Originally from Queens, New York, ALD, the acronym for Aimé Leon Dore, is a fashion and lifestyle brand founded by Teddy Santis in 2014. A brand born following classic 90's hip hop and aesthetic through the eyes of Teddy Santis, is more than just a fashion business. They have set them as a brand that showcases a lifestyle in every new launch rather than pushing products to consumers. BEHIND THE BRAND: TARPLEY

In this post-pandemic world, there’s certainly no shortage of new, emerging brands. We’ve seen a rise in independent sportswear brands, streetwear brands (of course), and more loungewear than you can shake a stick at. However, luxury innovative brands bringing unique pieces to the scene? That’s something we can all get on board with.

We caught up with Tarpley Brooks Jones, Founder and Director of ‘TARPLEY’ - a contemporary fashion label specialising in clothing made from innovative technologies.

It was great to discuss his background, find out a little more about the brand and understand what TARPLEY has to offer. We certainly enjoyed it, and hope you do too…

Designed in London + Handmade in England, Duke + Dexters STADIA Sneaker

The world needs less, and D+D makes less than most, purposefully, to reduce waste. All D+D’s are produced in limited runs, always using responsibly sourced materials. Knowing exactly where the fabrics come from, how they’re made, and who puts them all together in their workshops, by name.

For the brand, that sums up what D+D is all about – deeply passionate and talented people, who are out to push for change in an industry that’s increasingly shifting towards doing more harm than good. The team does it with conviction; creating styles and stories that exist for a reason. It’s this purposeful drive and desire to always be better that makes D+D who they are.

The new Stadia sneaker represents exactly that.

DUKE + DEXTER LAUNCHES ITS SS22 COLLECTION 'TIME + PLACE'

The brand’s SS22 collection is inspired by leisure. The greenery of an old-school country club, the wild aesthetic of the 80’s + 90’s, and a sense of freedom that only comes from playing your summer soundtrack with the roof down. When shooting, the brand wanted to make those moments seem as real as possible, and bring them to you, the customer, in the only way they could – so back in February, 7 of the D+D team boarded a plane at a very grey looking Heathrow and headed over the pond in pursuit of the sun.

A look at Linea Rossa

Most of us have seen the red stripe and now know it represents Prada’s sportwear line. This is something that was less commonly know a few years ago, especially by our younger audience. Prada sport originally ran from 1995 till the mid noughties meaning a lot of us were still children when the sports line was at its most prevalent. The relevance of Prada Sport in todays fashion landscape has never been clearer. The increase of vintage Prada Sport on the likes of Depop and Vestiaire Collective in more recent times make that obvious. Luckily for us Prada Sport has gradually been making its come back since 2018.

The rise of outdoor culture in everyday fashion

Fast forward to a post-lockdown world and the willingness to be outdoors has never been more obvious.
