The muse of “Jacquemus”
Taking the fashion world by storm, Simon Porte Jacquemus, 31, astounded the world with his new collection - La Montagne, recently.
The designer, who is indeed famous for his renowned “Le Chiquito bag” exceeded all the expectations of every fashion fanatic including his ever growing 3.5 million Instagram followers.
Super models like Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, and Adut Akech definitely took the show to next level but let’s not forget about Yumi Nu — the Asian plus size model strutting down the ramp. A “body positivity” moment for sure.
Apart from all the valid attention, we are here to talk specifically about the men’s collection from the show.
The whole ready-to-wear collection was inspired by sport blended with utility fashion. We could see staple wears re-conceptualized with diverse colors, of course. The men’s collection was somewhat similar to the women’s in terms of hues and silhouettes. The designer definitely went over the stereotypical rules as to how “men’s clothes” should be. From boxy designs, oversized fittings, earthy neutral color tones to vibrant pieces, everything was well put up into every piece.
Floral patches and prints never looked so good on a puffer jacket before. That too, with a cropped length and long sleeves; it takes all the money. Not to forget about the unique version of hooded parka, over-length coat, and blazer suit, the whole collection gave us pretty much everything we needed.
His collection definitely showed some sense of freedom, liveliness and optimism. He incorporated a wide range of fashion material and designs which makes it more dynamic, also wearable. The clothes he makes are remarkable as he finds the right balance between concept and reality.
He shares his emotions through his creation; playful, appealing yet sophisticated and that is what makes Jacquemus what it is. From promoting his designs by having his friends wear his creation to nailing the runway, today, Jacquemus is a muse of his own.
We definitely can’t take our eyes off the new Jacquemus - Fall 21 collection. Head over to jacquemus.com to shop your pick.
