UNIQLO and Jil Sander return for Autumn/Winter 2020.
After teasing the project last month, global apparel retailer UNIQLO has recently announced the launch of the new +J collection with legendary designer Jil Sander, who brings “a touch of signature modern style” for Autumn/ Winter 2020.
Commenting on the collaboration, Sander explains, "I set out to define the global modern uniform with this in mind: Clothes should be long-lasting and enduring. They should serve the wearer and give her or him the energy and self-assurance which is so much needed in our global reality"
Stand-out items in the collection include utility-inspired jackets and military blouson. Elsewhere, tailored jackets and gabardine pants appear in a paper paper-like material, while oversized shirting arrives with a classic palette from ivory to black and white - complete with contrasting colour patterns.
“The Fall/Winter 2020 +J collection features sophisticated essentials for women and men. Inspired by a sense of enlightened understatement, the line consists of versatile, iconic pieces. Fine tailoring and sculptural shapes come together with an overall balance of proportion, ease and comfort. Distinct lines give definition to moving panels and architectural silhouettes. Volumes, while generous, are well fitted.” explains the collection notes.
Luxe fabrics come in the form of functional fabrics to herringbone tweed, which are elevated with pockets, zippers, stitching and contrasting for an eye-catching finish.
The full FW20 collection from +J is due to be released worldwide via the UNIQLO web store on November 12.
