OFFGRID w/ Mr. Pastel
It’s been a couple of months since we did one of these since we’ve been busy writing, shooting, and pushing our off-white quote totes down you guy’s throats… OFFGRID: Get to know those we post on our grid, off the grid, in 20 questions or less. Who better to answer than Bordeaux-based content creator Jordan Clement or ‘Mr. Pastel’ as he calls himself.
Taking inspiration from Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’, Mr. Pastel’s feed and style is cleverly curated to include –you guessed it – pastels.
He has been blowing up recently, seeing incredible growth in the past 6 months alone and is the arguably one of the few people to be having a good 2020 other than Joe Biden and Dua Lipa…

When did you decide to start taking Instagram “seriously”
Right before the lockdown in France (around February-March 2020), I went to NYC with some friends and received a lot of compliments from people about how I dressed. I met this guy (thank you man) that told me that I should consider modelling etc. When I came back to France sadly we went into a lockdown due to the virus and I decided to practice on my platform.
Has becoming an “influencer” significantly changed the way you live?
My life did change significantly out of nowhere. I was gaining thousands of followers weekly, people started to recognize me when I was out, I also gained notoriety on social media and started to get acknowledged by celebrities (i.e. Young Thug, Jourdan Dunn, etc.) and brands. One of the biggest changes that I am thankful for is being able to receive clothes for free.
When are you most inspired? Early in the mornings or late at night.
I would say late at night. I’m always at my peak at night, that’s when I get productive.

What is your favourite movie?
Hotel Rwanda. It captures one of the most important events in Africa’s history.
Rio and Toy Story are my fav animated films.
When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a movie director. As a creative person, that would be a perfect opportunity to express my creativity.
Would you ever live anywhere besides Bordeaux?
Of course, I would love to move to the U.S. I love DC so I would be based there but move around places like NYC or LA.
You’re going out for food, where do you eat and what are you eating?
I really like Wendy’s but since there is none in France, I go to Burger King and get a Whopper combo with onion rings and a vanilla milkshake. I know, poor diet.
Current celebrity crush?
Madelyn Cline from “Outer Banks”.
Television show you’ve binged on recently?
“Dexter” This is the show! but I loved “Kalifat” as well.
What city do you want to visit the most?
Tokyo
What’s your favourite fashion piece in your wardrobe?
My pearl phone crossbody bag.

I hate the combo Perfecto + skinny pants.
What’s your typical routine for a weekend served in isolation? (Given the Covid-19 situ)
I wake up around 10 in the morning, I get some bakeries to start my day while watching the news or my favourite TV Show. I go on Instagram and get some inspirations, draw different ideas of outfits down. Early in the afternoon, I go take some pictures and follow with a workout session. By then, it’s almost the end of the day so I call my mum, I go read a book and I spend time on social media to respond to my supporters.
