Tell us about yourselves in 5 words:
Alice: Organized, thoughtful, reliable, optimistic, clumsy
Js: Creative, generous, perfectionist, careful, shyWhen did you decide to start taking Instagram “seriously”
Alice: We realized Instagram was the key to our work as it allows an immediate and global reach. It is highly visual and you can recreate your own aesthetics and style in a minute. However, if you want to remain creative and original you can’t take Instagram too seriously, otherwise, you tend to copy what’s already on it and what’s trending - there’s no point!Has becoming “influencers” significantly changed the way you live?
Alice: Becoming an influencer has not changed the way we live except the fact that we travel a lot, which is a privilege. Being an influencer started as a passion and now it is our full-time job, even if it’s quite absorbing it doen’’t take up 100% of our time.
I guess, your job should not define your way of living, you’ve got to be true to yourself. We remain the same, we have the same group of close friends since high school but I must admit we now have more than 260k new friends thanks to our Instagram community :)When are you most inspired? Early in the mornings or late at night
Alice: I’m definitely more proactive in the morning but js is the opposite! Travelling is the best way to keep your mind open to new ideas and I must say quarantine was harsh on us, creatively speaking.Coffee or Tea?
Alice: Coffee and tea! But js sticks to water exclusively, in any circumstances! What is your favourite movie?
Alice: Pride and prejudices by Joe Wright
Js: Wall-E (animated film by Pixar)When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Alice: As a little girl, I adored animals of all kinds (especially dogs I must admit) so I wanted to become a vet, until I realized later on in life that as a vet you sadly have to end life sometimes.
Js : Like all kids, I was a big fan of cartoons, so I decided I would become a cartoonist so I could invent my own story. Well, I became a graphic designer so it’s not that far from my 6-year-old self!Would you ever live anywhere besides Paris?
Alice: We lived in Los Angeles for a year back in 2013, right at the time we started the blog and Instagram actually. We really enjoyed it, living abroad is such a great experience but it reinforced my love for my country and now I know for sure that I am the happiest in my hometown, Paris. You’re going out for food, where do you eat and what are you eating?
Alice: There are so many good restaurants in Paris, we are very lucky! But to name a few, we would recommend Sobane (Korean food), Faggio (pizzeria), Osteria Dell’ Anima (best fresh Italian pasta), Le Carreau (cute fine French bistro) and Clover Grill (for meat lovers).Television show you’ve binged on recently?
Alice: Handmaid’s tale, Atlanta, How To Get Away With Murder, The OA, and impatiently waiting for Stranger Things season 4!What city do you want to visit the most?
Alice: We are dying to visit Tokyo! We were supposed to go for the first time this year in March but unfortunately, we had to cancel the trip because of the worldwide pandemic situation. What’s your favourite fashion piece in your wardrobe?
Alice: My mini saddle Dior bag
Js: My pleated trousers from Homme PlisséWho’s your favourite “influencer” or content creator? You can have more than one if you want
Alice: I would highly recommend some inspirational and mood board accounts such as @manimomemts, @ruba, @nineteennikey, @all__minimal, or @ignant.
You should also check out these content creators: @axelmorim_, @joanpala, @mikkoputtonen, @lenalademann, @cubicle, and @loicprigent.Name a fashion trend you would like to see disappear forever?
Alice: I agree that there are certain fashion trends that we do not like because it does not fit with our style but that’s very subjective… Although, I would not be upset to see the XXXL bags (where they’re as big as a human silhouette) trend disappear. It is important to go with the flow and not embrace every trend; just pick one trend once in a while, mix it up with timeless pieces so that you stay true to your style.
What’s your typical routine for a weekend served in isolation? (Given the Covid-19 situ)
Alice: 1hr workout in the morning, cooking brunch with lots of cheese and avocados, sunbathing in the garden in the afternoon and binge-watching series at night. What’s your favourite brand right now?
We cannot pick one so here is a list of our favourites: Acne Studios, Nanushka, Maison Margiela, Prada, Jacquemus, Craig Green, Sean Suen.Favourite pair of shoes you own?
Alice: A pair of Fendi pointed heeled boots
Js: Prada Cloudbust Thunder sneakersJewellery? Yay or Nay? If yay, what’s your signature piece?
Alice: Surprisingly for a girl, I am not obsessed with jewellery but I do love to wear some timeless layered gold necklaces.
Js: I am very picky when it comes to men’s jewellery but I do love bold chevalière rings from Maison Margiela.Would you rather never be able to eat your favourite 5 meals again or never be able to buy new clothes?
Alice: Receiving clothes as gifts would be cheating right?! Haha. Even if fashion is our passion, food wins here :)
