MOTIF. 2.0 - Ucon Acrobatics design 20 limited backpacks in 20 countries with 20 artists to mark 20 years

For their 20th anniversary, the Berlin-based backpack brand dedicated to clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic presents the 2nd edition of Motif. A collaborative design project with 20 artists out of 20 countries, designing 20 unique pattern designs, limited to 20 pieces per design.

This exclusive edition will be shown and sold in 20 different cities around the world such as Tokyo, Paris, New York, Berlin, Tel-Aviv, London, and many more. No one should suffer for our products - not people, not animals, and not the environment. That’s why they printed the collaboration on recycled PET. The range of backpacks is called MOTIF and comprises 20 different styles each designed by a different creative studio.

“We are speechless and super happy that so many design studios from all over the world worked together on this project. The following creative studios were involved:  Francesco Ciccilella (Austria), Mario De Mayer (Belgium), We Are out of office (The Netherlands), Jonathan Castro Alejos (Chile), Jan Kalab (Czech Republic),  Manuel Carvalho (Germany), Hvass & Hannibal (Denmark), Emma Larrson (Sweden), Marco Oggian (Spain), Santtu Mastonen (Finland), My Name is Wendy (France), HMD Studio (The United Kingdom),  Simek (Greece), Yambo Studio (Israel), Yasuda Takahiro (Japan), Office of Demande Spéciale (Canada), Ada Zielińska (Poland),  Vasjen Katro (Serbia),  Grilli Type (Switzerland),  Ryan Carl (USA). All contributed terrific patterns to make this project happen,” said Jochen Smuda, co-founder of Ucon Acrobatics.
